WHAT IS TRANSITION TO KINDERGARTEN??
Transition to Kindergarten (TK) is a state-authorized, early learning opportunity for children who are at least 4 years old by August 31 and show a need for extra support to succeed in kindergarten the following year. TK focuses on play-based learning and hands-on experiences to help students develop both academically and socially-emotionally, mirroring the typical kindergarten schedule while adjusting for the age, development, and stamina of the children. Eligibility is determined through a screening process. Children must demonstrate academic, language, or social needs and cannot already be enrolled in another early learning program or preschool.
