VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in becoming a school volunteer. Your time is valuable and is such a tremendous gift to our students. We are grateful for your willingness to lend us your talent and energy. School volunteering is also richly rewarding.
Blaine Schools welcome community members to serve in a variety of volunteer roles. Some examples are: serving as general classroom assistants, chaperoning field trips, and tutoring or mentoring students. Take-home tasks or helping with after-school events and clubs are opportunities available to community members who are unable to volunteer during the school day.
All volunteers and volunteer coaches are required to complete a volunteer application packet online, including copies of any required documents, prior to beginning service. The application permits a criminal history review through the Washington State Patrol.
For the 2024-25 school year, we are using the FastTrack application system. This is the same system used for job applications. You will want to apply for the "Volunteer " or "Volunteer Coach" position in the list of open positions. Applications will be submitted online and pre-approved by a school administrator before a background check is completed. Paper applications will no longer be accepted. You will need to download, sign and attach the Hold Harmless form to your online application.
If you need access to a computer to submit your online application, or need help taking a picture of your photo ID and uploading it to your application, please visit the District Office and ask for Tanya.
Once your application is approved, you will be notified of your status via email and given instructions on how to obtain a volunteer badge. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for this process. Your eligibility will remain valid for the length of the school year in which it was completed.
Feel free to contact Tanya at (360) 332-0717 or by email at tcarter@blainesd.org with any questions.
