We are all looking forward to the upcoming well-deserved break. Students will be released early at 12:50 p.m. on Friday, and school will be out from December 18 through January 1. Our District Office and other district departments will be open December 18-19 and will then close for the rest of Winter Break. We will re-open and resume school on Tuesday, January 2.
While many experience great joy at this time of year, winter break can feel hard for some students. Adolescents especially are in a time of life when friends play a very important role. Many families find that giving their child alone time or time for self care (texting with friends, going for a walk alone, watching a favorite show) can make their time together feel more fulfilling. These breaks from school can also be an opportunity to hear more about what is on your child's mind. Listening and taking them seriously, knowing that they are in a process of figuring out who they are and who they will become, can deepen your relationship with them and reinforce their trust in you.
We wish you and your loved ones a holiday season filled with lasting memories. See you in 2024!
