students learning merengue

Good evening students, staff, families and community,

Around Campus

This morning BHS students and staff held a state send off for flautist Byanca Holguin. Byanca will perform at the Washington State Music Educators Association’s Solo and Ensemble Contest in Ellensburg tomorrow. Good luck Byanca!

Senora Alexander’s Spanish students have been busy with fun activities this week. Some students had the chance to learn to dance the merengue and practice ordering food in Spanish.

Animals as Natural Therapy continued their visits to our district, this week with our middle school students. Students had the chance to meet and interact with their caring staff and volunteers and their furry and feathered friends.

Kindergarten Registration

We are busy planning for next school year. In order to ensure your child is placed in a Kindergarten class next school year, all incoming students MUST complete the enrollment process by Friday, May 20th. Please reach out to the Blaine Primary School Office with any questions.

Plant Sale This Week

The BHS Plant Sale is happening this week. The sale will run Friday, April 29th from 3-6 and Saturday, April 30 from 10-12. The greenhouse is bursting with beautiful mixed color bowls, geraniums, lobelia, and other flowers and vegetables. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Horticulture Program.

Promising Futures Art Exhibit

Ten of our Borderite artists will be participating in the annual all county art exhibition at Jansen Art Center in Lynden. There will be an opening reception Thursday, May 5th from 6-8 P.M. celebrating the student participants. The exhibit runs from May 5-27, so be sure to stop by and see what these talented student artists have been up to.

Upcoming School Calendar Items:

  • Monday, May 9 - Teacher Work Day (No School)

  • Monday, May 30 - Memorial Day

It’s a great night to be a Borderite, and, as always, a great night to be your superintendent.
