SCHEDULE REMINDER: Tuesday, June 18, is the last day of school. Students will be released early at 12:50pm.

Early this morning, the Blaine Police Department notified Blaine School District Administration of a post to Snapchat, by a Middle Student, that depicts an abstract character holding a weapon with the caption "Enough is Enough" The Blaine Police Department has met with the family of the student and at this time does not consider the post to represent a credible threat against a specific individual, or the school in general. That being said, this student will not be permitted to return to school until an extended investigation into this matter can be conducted. At this time there is not a projected timeframe for the student to be allowed to return to school. The safety of students and staff remains our highest priority.

The Blaine Police and High School administration have surfaced evidence of threats to the school. The individual accused of making threats is currently in custody. The Board of Directors will hold a Special Meeting at 6:30pm on Friday, May 17. The purpose of the meeting is to interview, in person, two superintendent search consultant firms, with a focus on the Board’s intent to conduct a highly accelerated superintendent search process with the option of diverting to an interim selection if needed.

On April 15, the School Board will hold a special meeting after the Budget Work Session for the purpose of taking action on postponing this month's regular meeting to April 29 so that all directors can be in attendance.
